Paw pad color
There appears to be a wide range of variance occuring in the paw pad colors of the Bengal cat. One could argue that the reason for the standard and its statement of what ideal paw pad color is is to assist breeders in producing cats that will reproduce a likeness to themselves. That is the fundamental reason for the stabilization and identification of separate breeds. In the Bengal cat we bring in a new mix and it is difficult to know in the midst of selecting for traits what we are "throwing out" when we eliminate cats from our breeding programs.
Paw pad color is becoming such an issue.
